Proverb: On Dreams and Grief and Healing
One of the biggest lessons I have learned in pursuing my dreams, is that it is necessary to grieve my disappointments. I often fight the denial of rejection and dreams deferred, but what I didn’t realize is that by infesting my whole self into a dream, my emotions and physical body are negatively impacted by the failure. So now, I grieve my failures. In grief, my body and mind go through a necessary sequence of events in order to process the the physical and emotional deposit invested on the dream. This grieving is time for me to heal. And like physical exercise or physical healing, the body strengthens and grows, giving the dreamer what he needs to overcome future obstacles and eventually achieve the prize.
